Catalogs
1)
As a rule, the upper right corner of a spread is the first place people look. Put a strong product there such as a best-seller to lure consumers into turning the page.
2)
Keep the fonts simple and limit the number of typefaces you use; otherwise you are risking having an overwhelming page that no one wants to read.
3)
Always include an order form. Many customers, even if they order via the telephone, use the form to organize their purchases prior to placing the order.
4)
Consistent layouts, recognizable spreads and familiar icons are imperative in achieving brand excellence and recognition. But be sure not to over simplify this because if the entire catalog is the same, customers will get bored and not read it.
